The company is focused on two areas—Publishing and Production. Sky Media publishes interactive multimedia products for distribution through wholesale and retail channels and through its joint venture with Discovery House Publishers (product line—Discovery Interactive).

The production side of Sky Media is focused on providing services for our ministry partners—such as developing new multimedia titles, customizing existing titles for a ministry's private label, various consulting services related to large multimedia projects, project management services, and systems integration. A very valuable and unique resource that Sky Media also makes available to its client ministries is the Sky Media Resource Pool.

The Staff and Associates Group of Sky Media includes industry-recognized leaders in the areas of: instructional design, instructional technology, art direction and production, graphics design, animation and virtual reality, multimedia systems programming, interface design, video and audio production, Internet and World Wide Web systems, and broadband multimedia information services systems.

 

Sky Media utilizes a "Virtual Team" concept to apply the ideal blend of talent to a multimedia project. This concept is in response to a major problem that many ministries face—not having the appropriate type and level of resources available for a project. Simply put, the concept combines the resources of the Sky Media staff and the ministry staff, along with a group of specialists to form a team that is optimized for the tasks at hand. Currently, Sky Media has over a dozen specialists, known as Sky Media Associates, that are available for project assignments. This Virtual Team approach has been used successfully by Sky Media over the last three years in the creation of its multimedia titles. Sky Media has also developed the skills needed to manage this type of team concept. This Virtual Team approach allows Sky Media to offer its client ministries the best resources available, at the optimal staffing level, on a demand basis, and at the lowest possible overall cost.
